1. What is Slide Sorter view in MS PowerPoint?

Slide Sorter view allows us to easily rearrange the order of slides within a presentation. This view shows the thumbnails of each slide and we can easily rearrange simply by dragging.


2. Write the steps to change background color on all the slides within a presentation.

i. Go to Design tab;

ii. Click on the Background Dialog Box Launcher button;

iii. Select Fill;

iv. Click on the down arrow to the right of the Color section;

v. Select a color;

vi. Click Apply to All button;

vii. Click Close button.


3. How can you apply automatic slide numbering in your Presentation?

i. Go to Insert Tab;

ii. Click on Header & Footer button;

111. In the Header & Footer dialog box, Check Slide Number;

IV. Press Apply to All.


4. What is the Slide Show view in MS PowerPoint?

Slide Show view is the view used for presenting to an audience. The whole screen is taken over by the presentation. Slide Show view can be accessed from the Slide Show tab of the ribbon.


5. What is a Slide Master?

A Slide master contains the underlying content and formatting information used by a slide in a presentation. If we want that the company logo is embedded within the slide each time we create a new slide, we can easily do it by editing the slide master.


6. How can you insert dates into the footer in a Power point presentation?

i. Go to Insert tab

ii. Click on the Header & Footer button; the Header & Footer Dialog is displayed

iii. Click on Date & Time check box

iv. Click Apply to insert into current slide or Apply All to insert into all slides.


7. Write the steps for inserting slides with a particular slide layout.

i. Go to Home Tab;

ii. Click on New Slide button under slides group;

iii. Click on the desired layout.

This will insert slides with a particular slide layout.


8. How can you insert a picture (clipart) into a master slide?

i. Go to View Tab;

ii. Click Slide Master under presentation views group; then go to Insert Tab;

iii. Click Clipart under Illustrations group;

iv. On click art pane, type relevant word in Search For box;

v. Click Go, then Click on the desired clipart.


9. What is Slide Transition? How can you apply the same slide transition to all the slides at a time?

Slide Transitions means moving from slide to slide in a PowerPoint presentation.

To apply transition effect to all slide at a time:

i. Go to Animations tab;

ii. Click on down arrow in Transitions to this Slide group;

iii. Click on desired transition;

iv. Click on Apply to all button.


10. How can you add Slide show animation effects to text?

To add Slide show animation effects to text- 

i. Select the text within the slide;

ii. Click on the down arrow to the right of the Animate section (within the Animation tab).

iii. This will display a drop down list of options;Now, select any of the available animation options. 

iv. This will add animations effects to the text in the presentation.


11. How can you apply a theme to a presentation?

i. Click on the Design tab;

ii. Click on the to the right of the Themes section;

iii. This will display a drop down list of design type;

iv. Now, once clicked on a design, it will be applied to all the slides.


12. How can you move slides between presentations?

To move slides between presentations-

i. Open the presentation that we want to copy slide from;

ii. Click on the Slide Sorter icon at the bottom-right of the screen. 

iii. Now click on the slide and press: Ctrl+X

iv. Switch to the other presentation; go to the slide sorter view;

v. Now press: Ctrl+V

This will move the slide to the second presentation file.


13. How can you insert a shape into a master slide?

i. Go to View Tab;

ii. Click Slide Master under presentation views group; then go to Insert Tab;

iii. Click Shapes under Illustrations group;

iv. On click on the desired shape; mouse pointer changes to a small cross;

v. Now, drag and draw the shape.


14. How can you remove graphics from a master slide?

i. Go to View Tab;

ii. Click Slide Master under presentation views group;

iii. Select the object (graphics);

iv. Press Del key.

This will remove the graphics from the master slide.


15. What is the use of Outline View in PowerPoint?

In Outline view, PowerPoint displays your presentation as an outline made up of the titles and main text from each slide. Working in Outline view is particularly handy if we want to make global edits, get an overview of the presentation, change the sequence of bullets or slides, or apply formatting changes.


16. What are the good practice when creating slide content?

Good Practice when creating slide content:

i. Keep paragraph as short as possible. 

ii. Use short concise phrase.

iii. Use bullet or numbered list. This makes it much more easier to read.


17. How can you change the background color in a Chart?

i. Click on the Chart to select it;

ii. Right Click over an empty part of the chart background>a pop up menu displayed; 

iii. Select the Format Plot Area command> Format Plot Area dialogue box appears; 

iv. Select Fill>Select Solid Fill;

v. Click on the down arrow next to the Color section>Select a color from the drop down list;

vi. Click on the Close Button. This changes the background clolor of the chart.


18. What is an Organization chart?

An organization   chart   graphically   is   used   to   represent   the   management   structure   of   an organization, such as department managers and non-management employees within a company.


19. How can you apply a shadow to an Illustration in Power point?

i. Select the picture;

ii. Right click and select the Format Picture command;

iii. Click on the down arrow within the Presets section of the dialogue box> a range of shadow options displayed;

iv. Select one of presets shadow;

v. Increase the amount of shadow using distance control; This applies shadow to an Illustration.


20. How can you hide a slide? How can you display a hidden slide?

To hide a slide:

i. Open the presentation in Slide Sorter view (by clicking on the Slide Sorter icon at the bottom right of the screen)

ii. Right Click on the desired slide;

iii. Select Hide Slide command from the pop up menu. This will hide the slide.

Display hidden slide:

i. Display the first slide and run the slide show (Press F5);

ii. Right click over the slide that is displayed in slide show layout> a pop up menu appears;

iii. From the pop up menu, select the Go to Slide command and click on the hidden slide.

This will show the hidden slide.
